What is your community interest?
Are you concerned about healthy kids and hungry families? Or the homeless in San Juan County? Our free Community Checking Account earns "community interest" which will support a group of charities that benefit a large number of San Juan County residents. It's easy! Just choose one of the non-profit agencies from the list. There is no minimum balance requirement, but when your daily balance is $750 or more, Animas Credit Union will donate the interest earned on your behalf to the charity you've chosen. Since the Community Interest earned goes directly to your charity, it isn't credited to your account. You won't pay taxes on the interest income, nor can you deduct the donation. Making a difference made easy!
